Suzanne McDonald brings world-class training and a whole lot of heart to everything she does—whether she's performing in a cathedral, directing a choir, or teaching a student their first Beethoven sonata.
A graduate of McGill University and Boston Conservatory (Dowell McNeill Award recipient), Suzanne studied at the Royal School of Church Music in London and has trained alongside some of the most celebrated names in organ, piano, and choral music. She has performed across North America and Europe, directed professional chamber choirs in New York City, and founded the Levy Choir School—a tuition-free program that brought choral music to children of all backgrounds, including a premiere performance with the United Nations Chamber Orchestra. She currently serves as Director of Music at Christ Church, New Brunswick, NJ, and judges for the National Piano Guild and state festivals.
But here's what really sets her apart: she loves teaching. Whether you're a budding musician dreaming of music school, an adult returning to the keys after years away, or somewhere in between—Suzanne meets you where you are. Her studio is a place where serious musicianship and genuine fun coexist, and where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired to grow.
Your Guide to a Life in Music
A graduate of Boston Conservatory and McGill University, Suzanne McDonald has spent over two decades cultivating something rarer than technique: a genuine, lasting love of music in every student who walks through her door — or logs on from anywhere in the world.
Her students have gone on to Juilliard, Boston Conservatory, and beyond. They have won major competitions. Whether you play for fun or are planning a career in music, let me be your guide.
